Easter provides lots of entertainment, with egg hunts taking place all over the city. You can also find exciting temporary exhibitions, markets and activities around Easter, such as afternoon teas and lavish chocolate tastings.
Underbelly Festival provides entertainment aplenty in April, with a line-up full of the circus, comedy, music, cabaret and kids entertainment. You can also visit the huge outdoor bar, hopefully in the sun, before returning for more international arts.
London Games Festival gives you a chance to marvel at the latest tech, try your luck in competitions, hear from industry experts and play against the world’s best gamers. There are usually a few big reveals and technological marvels revealed at these events, so definitely worth a visit even if you’re not a big gamer yourself.
Pop to Trafalgar Square on St George’s Day for the Feast of St George for music, delicious food, kids games and a real dragon (okay, it’s not real but it is friendly).
The Sikh festival of Vaisakhi is a cultural highlight for the capital, so head to Trafalgar Square for plenty of arts, performances, food and activities.
On the 7th of April, Oxford and Cambridge battle it out in the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Races. There is usually a spectacle or two to witness during this event, so don’t miss it!
The London Marathon makes for an exciting day, with an electric atmosphere sweeping the city. Find a cheer point and soak up the energy while cheering on the runners. The race goes by many impressive London landmarks.
The Queen celebrates her birthday on April 21st, so expects some impressive gun salutes and parades around the capital, particularly in Hyde Park and at the Tower of London. Her official birthday is in June, but celebrations are held in April.
